«1C-Rarus» has completed the automation of «Arctel» JSC on the basis of the «1C:Enterprise 8.1» platform

The accountancy and management automation project was realized by 1C-Rarus in the telecommunication company «Arctel». The information system was developed on the basis of the «1C:Enterprise 8.1» platform and included most major spheres of accountancy: management accounts, book-keeping, operation accounts, warehouse accounts, HR management. Within the project an integration of 1C with the billing systems was also undertaken. As a result, over 70 workplaces were automated, including remote departments in 3 towns. The automation of the main business-processes brought about the improvement in the quality of the company's management system, optimizing the execution of routine operations, integration of all kinds of information and empowering management with full information of all business activities.

ARCTEL JSC, a major Moscow region telecom operator, was founded in 1999. Today, ARCTEL is one of the leaders in phone card sales and a major provider of authorized remote access inter-city/international telecom services. Arctel develops its regional network, currently it has affiliates in Saint-Petersburg, Tolyatti and Samara. Arctel provides a complex of telecom services: all kinds of local, inter-city and international connections, dedicated Internet access, telecom networks installations, call service centers, phone cards, and other services.

The necessity to store big volumes of data and to have quick access to all Holding companies' operative information defined the requirements of the automation system. Upon comparison of different software, the leadership of «Arctel» decided to use the «1C: Enterprise 8.1»   platform as the basis for the complex automation system. 1C-Rarus was chosen as the competent executor to develop and implement this automation system pertaining to its affluent experience in telecom companies automation.

The main task of the project (automation of management and accountancy processes) was realized over a period of one year, using step-by-step  method. The attained results after implementing the project included formulating of an integrated information environment for all departments of «Arctel», furthermore, over 70 workplaces including remote departments in other cities were automated. The information environment included the following departments: Administration, Accounts department, HR department, Warehouses, Financial department, CRM department.

In line the project, the following modules were automated by 1C-Rarus:

• Management accounts: budgeting, planning, cash assets management, a report system for the creation of consolidated reports in accordance with IAS on the basis of the specialized business solution developed by 1C-Rarus  — «Corporative accounting»;
• Accounting: fixed assets accounting, regulated reporting system, specific VAT reports in accordance with both regulated and internal requirements, creating of integration mechanisms with telecom services calculation systems (iBuh and Niklaus), export of entries, contracts and other inputted documents from 1C to the billing systems, automated printing of documents after import from the billing systems.
• CRM technologies: an integral database of customers, contracts and contacts, keeping of the relationship's history.
• Operation and warehouse accounts: balance of goods, reservation of goods, purchase planning, history of orders, accounting of equipment depreciation, drawing up of warehouse and sales documentation.
• HR management: supporting of the HR policies in the company, salary calculation, including accountancy of staff work output engaged in the project activities of the company.
• Special reporting system: special sales and cash reports in accordance with all kinds of activities, reports on communication objects, detailed VAT reports.

A word from the Arctel's Financial Director Svetlana Zharikova: «In relevance with the growth of the company's business a more powerful automated management system was needed. The implementation of the «1C:Enterprise 8.1»   system and the development of the corporate management solution allowed to raise the quality level of management, quicken the routine processes and incorporate all main business processes into the integrated information environment».

Inclusive to the mutual relationship between «Arctel» and «1C-Rarus» is the support of the developed information system and provision for incorporating the newly opened and territorial displaced departments into the automated system in question.
